When Life Gives You Lemmons...Kids Raise $210 for Friends of Dave
A lemonade stand in Danville, California dedicated 100% of their sales to Friends of Dave. On Saturday, June 11, 2005, four of Dave's Nieces volunteered their Saturday to sell 50 cent cups of lemonade to help their Uncle. Kendall, Kayla, Amber, and Ashley set up their stand at 8 AM in a quiet suburb north of San Francisco. The girls staffed the lemonade stand until late afternoon and received an overwhelming response from passerby. One customer had recently lost her sister to leukemia and was touched by their efforts. On the spot, this Samaritan emptied her change purse to contribute to Friends of Dave and returned later to donate an additional $5. The girls were rewarded with sales of more then $200 and they have generously donated all of these proceeds to Friends of Dave.
